Let's Talk Replacement Nibs!

In this video I answer a viewer question: "what the advantages are to purchasing replacement nibs for Jinhao X750s". I answer that: primarily it gives me more nib width choices especially Broad and Stub nibs. We also take a look at some of my nib smoothing supplies that help make some of the "feedbacky" nibs more smooth and write a little wetter. The nibs that come on the Jinhao pens are not bad nibs - for me they have too much feedback and I like them to write wetter so I talk about that. For anyone beginning in the hobby or on a budget and wanting to try out a variety of nib sizes -- you can really enhance your enjoyment of the hobby and save money by looking into nib replacement. I spent my first whole year back in the hobby writing with Medium nibs and then I got interested in Broad nibs. A viewer of this channel convinced me I needed to try Stub nibs about 2 years into my journey and that has been so much fun. I thought stub nibs would be a lot like calligraphy nibs but stubs are so much smoother and easier to write with!!!!! In my opinion, trying out lots of nibs has the potential to bring you even more mileage from your pens! My next area to explore will be finding a fine nib that I actually LIKE. SO far, I've written with very few fine nibs (except the Lamy) and most of them I have not liked.
NOTE: I forgot to mention that the TWSBI Diamond 580 nib units screw easily in and out so that is a very simple upgrade if you're looking to try a different nib size.
