On Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, @OldToNewRailfan and I traveled down to Quincy, Massachusetts, to document the operations of the Fore River Railroad, a shortline based out of the Fore River Shipyards. Follow along as we watch Historic B23-7 101 switch tank cars around the yards before departing for Braintree, as well as coming back from Braintree with crew members riding the shove into the shipyards.
Please note:
While there weren’t any no trespassing signs where we railfanned, and no crew members told us we were trespassing at any point during our visit, if you choose to visit the Fore River Railroad, please be aware of your surroundings at all times and don’t venture into restricted areas. I am not responsible for anyone who chooses to trespass on railroad property, or anywhere in the Fore River Shipyards where the general public isn’t allowed to be.
