Russia unleashed one of its largest overnight barrages of drones and missiles, pounding Ukraine’s power grid and hitting substations, thermal plants, and key transmission lines. The assault included 653 Shahed drones and dozens of missiles, severing a supply line to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant and forcing other reactors to reduce output. Explosions were reported across multiple regions as fires, infrastructure damage, and civilian injuries mounted. Poland scrambled jets as the hours-long attack rattled Western Ukraine.
