Bo Sanchez is a best-selling author,[1] entrepreneur,[2] Catholic lay preacher and minister. He is known as the "Preacher in Blue Jeans".
He was born on July 11, 1966 in Caloocan City to Eugenio and Pilar Sanchez.[6][8]
On September 9, 1980, the Light of Jesus held their first prayer meeting at the Sanchez home in Quezon City. On September 16, at the second prayer meeting of the group, 13-year old Bo Sanchez gave his first talk. He has not stopped preaching since. In 1996, he also founded the Anawim, a facility for taking care of abandoned elderly people in Rizal.[9]
His work as a lay preacher has brought him all over the world. Bo has received many recognitions and awards in the Philippines and the Church. These include winning the Ten Outstanding Young Men award in 2006 and the Serviam Award, the highest award a lay Catholic may receive, from the Catholic Mass Media Awards in 2007.
He is the founder of one of the religious communities in the Philippines, the Light of Jesus Family.[10] The community, as of 2016, has 35,000 members in the Philippines and the rest of the world[11] Through this, he founded two gatherings, the annual inspirational convention Kerygma Conference (which was founded on 2006)[12] and the weekly fellowship and worship called "The Feast" in 200 areas in the country and other parts of the world

My name is Bo Sanchez.

For twenty years, I was a poor missionary.

It helped that I was single then. I had no babies that needed diapers or a wife to romance on dates or a house mortgage to pay. So poor was okay.

I didn’t need money. I was happy preaching, writing, and doing ministry work among the poor. I really thought that to love the poor, I had to become poor.

I also used to think that to be close to God, I had to be poor too. I had this subconscious belief that money was evil.

But over ten years ago, I began to change my beliefs. (Which by the way is where all radical changes start. As the Bible says, “By your faith, it shall be done unto you.”)

Today, I’m a Truly Rich missionary.

I chose to become an entrepreneur. I now run businesses, invest in real estate, and invest in stocks and other paper assets. As of this writing, I have 7 income streams flowing to my life.

Yes, I’m still a missionary. I still preach, write, and work among the poor, lifting them out of poverty. And the impact of my ministry has multiplied a hundred times more.

But in case you’re asking, I don’t drive a luxury car or own a mansion. Oh yes, I can now afford to buy them. But as a personal choice, I’ve decided to remain simple in my lifestyle. Why?
