Arriving in Funchal is a spectacle—glowing city lights, the dramatic hills, and the impressive docking maneuvers are a treat for first-time visitors. After three previous cruises, I decided to skip the early wake-up and leisurely explore Madeira later on my P&O Azura voyage. But no, apparently, the docking team had other plans. Whoever was in charge thought it a brilliant idea to give everyone on board a vibrational wake-up call. Nothing says "welcome to Madeira" like a sudden, earth-shaking jolt at the crack of dawn, ensuring that no one could possibly miss the final approach. Truly, the only thing more memorable than the view was the rude awakening. Thanks for that, P&O. Brilliant. Just brilliant
