I have been wanting to paint with cobalt turquoise light for ages! I love that colour! It reminds me of those lovely beaches you get in Jervis Bay (Hyams Beach) or Whitehaven Beach, Whitsundays, Queensland or the Bay of Fires in Tasmania! All beautiful places with that amazing light blue water on a sunny day!

I really enjoy this way of painting. Using a butter soft lid, spray bottle, hake brushes, lots of water and gravity. I need to get a lighter MDF board as this one is pretty thick and pretty heavy!

This large abstract seascape watercolour was painted on a full sheet (56cm x 76cm) of Rives BFK etching paper. Attached to the MDF board using one piece of 3M magic tape.

The colours used were:
Mars Black
Prussian Blue
French Ultra Marine
Cobalt Turquoise Light

The brushes etc used were:
4 inch hake brush
butter soft container side
spray bottle
tissues
2 inch hake brush to lift out the light and do a bit of painting in the foreground

Rives BFK etching paper. Probably best to source this from your local store so you can look after the paper and not have it posted unless you are buying a large amount of paper and it will be looked after. There is nothing worse than getting hundreds of sheets all with a indent in them. Having said that you can actually source this paper from amazon:

I love this paper it is soft and lights are lifted easily from it.
