This video, from September 2022, models both 100% student engagement, but also how to use a co-teacher in the learning. At Third Future Schools, every teacher teaches 40-45 minutes to all students, gives a mini assessment, then uses that data to differentiate their students into 3 to 4 learning groups. The two highest groups (who achieved at grade level or beyond) leave the room to a Team Center with high level thinking independent or paired work. In these rooms, Learning Coaches have answer keys and support students. The teacher chooses up to 50% of students to remain with him/her is the classroom and a small group of extended learning occurs to close gaps quickly. This lasts about 30-40 minutes. The video presented is during the Extended Teach Time (LSAE).
