The Ultimate Van Power System has everything to run a microwave, induction stove, 12V air conditioner and a ceiling fan. Two solar panels on the roof supply power to the system.
A 50A Anderson plug in the power bracket enables flexible solar panels or solar blankets to be plugged in, increasing the total power supply as needed, and of course, power can come in from AC when parked in a powered camp-site. Three 150Ah Alpha150 Lithium batteries provide a total of 450Ah of power: https://www.redarcelectronics.com/150...
The batteries have built-in carry handles which cover the battery terminals, Bluetooth connectivity and the highest cell density for a battery of just 15.5kg and 190mm x 175mm x 353mm. Peak discharge is 350A over a 10s pulse and the battery has a 5000 cycle life. The 3000W pure sine wave inverter https://www.redarcelectronics.com/au/... can run a coffee machine, hair dryer, or anything you can throw at it.
The inverter is hardwired into the power system and available for US or AU power settings. The TVMS Rogue https://www.redarcelectronics.com/au/... allows two tank level inputs so both fresh water and grey water tanks can be monitored, along with dimming onboard lights, controlling fans, fridges, pumps and providing state of charge for batteries and ambient temperature information.
Bluetooth allows control of the systems, like the water pump, lights or fan you can switch it off from your phone. Watch the video to see the very cool ceiling, featuring a topographic map of South Australia, REDARC's home state. Stolp from Sandy Vans walks us through the installation step-by-step as he connects the lithium batteries to the Manager Alpha https://www.redarcelectronics.com/au/..., showing the location of the master cut-off switch.
DC power from the alternator is limited to draw 75 amps with an 80 AMP ANL fuse and programming of the Manager Alpha, as required for the Sprinter Van to avoid causing damage. A 100A breaker is for the air conditioner and a 100A block fuse powers the Manager Alpha 100. The 3000W inverter is wired into the van and controlled from the RedVision display panel. Wireless charging, USB and USBC ports enable charging of devices, and regular power outlets to safely charge sensitive appliances like cameras and laptops, even a 22-inch TV.
If the starter battery goes flat, the Alpha Manager can jump-start the vehicle to get you moving. From the RedVision app with Bluetooth connected to your phone, you can control the water pump, preventing overflowing or leaking, the interior and exterior lights, the outdoor shower and so on.
