This video shows the concept of combined stresses. In reality we always have combined stresses acting on any structural member, either it may be a column, slab or beam. Combined stresses is the combination of two different stresses acting on the object. Two different stresses are axial and bending stresses. In case of beam bending stresses are dominant while in case of columns axial stresses are dominant.
