How to remove the front strut towers in a 280ZX and replace the strut cartridge. Factory springs are reused, and factory struts are replaced with KYB Excel-G struts.
Job time: 3-4 hours per side
What you need:
Floor jack and jack stands
17 mm ratchet
Breaker bar and penetrating lube for stubborn bolts
Channel-lock pliers
A pick or very small flat head screwdriver
A few ounces of motor oil
Strut spring compressors (make sure they are the kind that mount from the outside; rent for free from most auto parts stores)
Torque wrench (for reassembly; you can rent for free also, but you really should own one of these)
Anti-seize lubricant (for reassembly)
