It's about two days of traipsing around beautiful central Barcelona in 2024, with our friends Barb and Jim. The main attractions were the amazing Palace of Catalan Music, Casa Batllo (pronounced Bat Yo), Casa Mila, the nearly-complete gigantic Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell ("Gway") and the Picasso Museum. We toured two buildings and a fanciful park designed by famed architect Antoni Gaudi. There are snippets of a rooftop nighttime light show done at one of them (Casa Mila/La Pedrera). By the way, if you didn't already know it, most of these places require paid admission for timed-entry tickets that should be purchased in advance.
Plus we added what we hope you'll find are other fun views of the city and unusual sights, such as the World Begins With Every Kiss mural, the prevalence of St. George and the Dragon statutes, a McDonalds unlike any in the US, a Roman necropolis, the King's Square, a Gothic skywalk with a menacing sculpture beneath it, and a weird, sardonic mailbox. This is just a small glimpse of what lies in Barcelona.
