Ostrava Zoo | Protecting endangered species: stories from Czech zoos

🦛🐆From mighty hippos to the fastest cheetahs and the rare Northern White-cheeked Gibbons – you can meet them all at Ostrava Zoo. But this is more than just a place to see animals.

👀 Ostrava Zoo is home to over 6,000 animals from 451 species, and about a third of them are threatened. Seven species you’ll find here are already extinct in the wild.

🐵 That’s why the zoo focuses on protecting chimpanzees, and works hard to breed endangered animals that can one day return to their natural habitats. Every visit helps support this mission. Come discover wildlife – and conservation in action – right here in Ostrava.
