2025 marks the fiftieth Biggar Vintage Rally, held every year to commemorate the founding of the Albion Motor Car Company by Thomas Blackwood Murray, a son of the town, and his partner Norman Osborne Fulton. In 1971, a forerunner to the rally was a Centenary Exhibition, held in Biggar to mark 100 years since the birth of Thomas Blackwood Murray. His widow, Hettie Blackwood Murray, sent this audio recording to be played at the opening of the Exhibition. The photograph shows Thomas and Hettie in 1899.
