This week we look at an amazing culture of people obsessed with sartorial elegance in the second poorest country in the World. More than 80% of Congolese people live on less than $1.25 a day, defined as the threshold for extreme poverty. Zaidi's work would be aesthetically remarkable anyway, without the socio-economic factors at play here. The Sapeurs talk about peace, no wonder when the country is riven with violence and death. Yet there is such joy here! There is much to think about here.
