A popular local outdoor hangout is a site that is off the Kaskaskia River in Fayette County, Illinois. It is off a county road that connects to Ramsey, Illinois (about 10 miles west). A truss bridge once was at the site as there is a monument to it (plus some old bridge structures). In addition, there is a water wheel that has natural spring water in it, as well as a large cross that pays tribute to the locals who have passed.
