Moses climbed Mt Sinai at least 7 times, it was the 7th climb that we find the account of God revealing Himself to Moses while in the cleft. Prior to the 6th climb, Moses and Joshua had to wait 6 days, beside the mountain. I show where I believe they stayed. Moses went up to get the 10 commandments on the 7th day while Joshua waited patiently in the North Valley the additional 40 days for Moses to come down with the 10 commandments.
