On August 11, Caltrain ran their first Stadler KISS EMUs into passenger service starting with train 221, the first overall train of the day lead by JPBX 305/306. Following train 221 terminating at SF, JPBX 305/306 were used on SB train 228, then NB 241, and finally SB 260. Another EMU trainset, JPBX 310/309 were also in service but it was later replaced by 301/302 probably due to PTC issues. August 11 also marks the beginning of an end for the F40s and Gallery cars as every following week until September 21st, 2 more EMU sets will be phased in and phasing out the F40 and Gallery sets as a result. Most likely later this month, I will be doing a review on these trains so stay tuned.
