Here's a sweet lick inspired by some of Peter Green's playing on Fleetwood Mac's "Need Your Love So Bad"....a beautiful slow, 6/8 blues in A.
It starts with a double-stop line where you keep your 1st finger anchored on the 1st string, 5th fret, and move from the 8th fret to the 5th on the B string. Then it heads down the Am pentatonic scale, but hits the B on the 3rd string, 4th fret, giving you a 9th sound. Up again, outlining the A major triad, with a hammer from the flat 3rd to the major 3rd. Then it finishes by playing the 5th (E) on the 3rd string 9th fret, giving it a big wide minor 3rd bend to the G, then back again.
Gobs of reverb, wide vibrato and a howling Les Paul and Fender amp add to the Greeny-ness!
As always, make sure to move this around neck, in different keys....and also try starting it on different beats or messing with the phrasing, to make it your own.
Enjoy......and please SUBSCRIBE to my Youtube page, if you do!
Thanks!
