Ms. Sarah Stalls discussed the raid by Union General Foster into Griffin’s Township during the Civil War.
In the Fall of 1862, Union General John Foster marched from Washington, North Carolina, into Griffin’s Township in Martin County. There were battles in the “Farm Life” Community at the intersection of Kader Lilley Road and Mill Inn Road. General Foster withdrew, but left devastation. Ms. Sarah Stalls tells of this raid.
Ms. Stalls also discusses her research into her own family and the brothers who fought in the Civil War.
