After the end of the Napoleonic Wars, Paris-based violinist Finlay Dun brought a dance craze from the City of Light to Enlightenment Edinburgh. His father, Dancing Master Barclay Dun, teamed up with the prolific Band leader Nathaniel Gow to create a plethora of dance sets, which were largely forgotten until a few years ago.
The newly-established Edinburgh Quadrille Society will be pleased to present a few of these dances for your delectation.
