ANGKOR WAT! Largest Hindu Temple in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Largest Religious Monument in the World! Angkor Wat means City/Capital of Temples!

The sunrise viewing at Angkor Wat is very popular and I wanted to share my perspective and put my spin on it by including a clock face with the Enlightened Buddha to accentuate the piece.

The mediums I used were charcoal, colored pencil, and ink. I am working on a 23' x 9' basswood plank. For the first step, I did a preliminary detailed sketch. For the second part, I burned the details and lines before coloring and shading with mixed media for the third and last steps. I am using a ballpoint tip with the burner tool for the Buddha and a small shader tip for the lines.

I had the chance to visit Angkor Wat and it was an amazing experience. If you ever get the opportunity I recommend you spend a few days in Siem Reap, Cambodia to explore and experience all of the historical sites.

I enjoyed making this artwork and I intend to create more pieces like this in the future.
