Dr. Jeffrey Velotta is a thoracic surgeon at Kaiser Permanente Oakland and a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. In addition to his expertise in the surgical field, his recent research interests include promoting lung cancer screening among Asian Americans and identifying key factors contributing to the increase in lung cancer among non-smoking Asian American women.
Dr. Shuming Liu graduated from Linköping Medical School in Sweden. For over 20 years, she has been actively promoting cancer knowledge through lectures. She currently serves on the board of directors and has initiated the "Shuming's Appointment" expert interview series at New Hope. With professional expertise, rigorous thinking, and a humorous approach, she guides participants through the complex world of cancer prevention, detection, and treatment, helping them find hope and discuss cancer with humor.
