Happy Sunday, everyone! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Sunday Mass celebration on this Second Sunday of Ordinary Time.
In today's welcoming Homily, Father Walter Carreiro invites us to transition from the joy of the Christmas season into the grace of "Ordinary Time". He reflects on the power of God’s invitation to "Come and See," reminding us that our faith is not just a set of rules, but a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. Whether we are long-time parishioners or joining us online for the first time, we are called to listen like the young Samuel and follow like the first disciples, allowing the Lord to transform our lives in the everyday moments.
The Scriptures highlight the beauty of responding to God's voice:
The First Reading (1 Samuel 3:3b-10, 19): The Lord calls the young Samuel in the temple. With the guidance of Eli, Samuel offers the ultimate prayer of availability: "Speak, for your servant is listening".
The Second Reading (1 Corinthians 6:13c-15a, 17-20): St. Paul reminds us that our bodies are "temples of the Holy Spirit" and that we are called to glorify God in our very being.
The Holy Gospel (John 1:35-42): John the Baptist points his own disciples toward Jesus, declaring, "Behold, the Lamb of God." When the disciples ask where Jesus is staying, He gives the life-changing invitation: "Come, and you will see".
Let us open our hearts today to "Come and See" where the Lord is dwelling in our own lives.
