Today’s camera is Thinkware’s newest flagship model and an upgrade over Thinkware's previous best model: the Q800 Pro. The U1000 comes with all the bells and whistles the Q800 Pro has but, now instead of recording at a 2K 'Quad HD' resolution of 1440p; the U1000 Pro records video at 4K 'Ultra HD' or 2160p, which is four times the resolution of full HD cameras.

The U1000 rear camera resolution is also improved! Now recording at 2K 1440p resolution, the optional Thinkware U1000 rear camera is a step up in recording quality as well. This increase in resolution from both the front and rear cameras is helpful when you’re trying to read license plates and capture fine details, front and rear!

The U1000 records at 30FPS (frames per second) at 4K (or 60FPS at 2K resolution) and has an upgraded Sony STARVIS image sensor that allows for crystal clear 4K resolution in both day and low light environments. This cam also utilizes Thinkware’s “Super night vision 2.0” system, which uses image signal processing or ISP for short. This feature enhances its low light recording capability by implementing noise reduction, auto focusing, and automatic exposure. The U1000 uses an 8.42-megapixel, wide-angle lens with a 150-degree viewing angle. Utilizing Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), which adjusts exposure levels in excessively bright or dark recording situations, your cam will automatically balance exposure to make sure the video isn’t too bright or too dark.
