This crossing is located on the NBSR McAdam Subdivision.
Horn setting: Horn zone.
Signal on the left: A clamp-style base, 2 pairs of WCH 12x20" lights with Harmon Fading LEDs and a WCH mechanical bell.
Signal on the right: A clamp-style base and 3 pairs of WCH 12x20" lights with Harmon Fading LEDs.
After starting my chase of NBSR 121 in Acamac, I paralleled the train along NB-177 until I reached this crossing. I was ahead of it quite a bit, but I began recording a few minutes in advance anyways. Not long after, the crossing activated, and NBSR 121 came rolling through with its five SD70M-2s for power.
This crossing is quite a nice one. As with most of the crossings on this line, there are a pair of gateless signals dating back to when CP owned this line. Originally there were shorter masts with GRS XC 8” incandescent lights as well as likely a US&S Teardrop bell. However in the 1980s, the bell was replaced with the current 1st Gen WCH mechanical bell and the lights on the near signal were replaced with newer 8” lights (mix of WCH and Safetran). The last change occurred in the early 2010s under the NBSR, when the 8” lights were replaced and the original masts were replaced with taller ones.
