Snow Lake to Gem Lake in Washington’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness near Snoqualmie Pass! 🌲⛰️

Snow Lake is one of the most popular hikes in Washington, and for good reason — the turquoise waters, alpine peaks, and incredible mountain views make it a must-do adventure. But if you keep going, the trail rewards you even more with Gem Lake, a higher, smaller alpine lake tucked beneath Wright Mountain.

📍 Trail Info

Snow Lake: 7.2 miles roundtrip, 1,800 ft elevation gain, 4,400 ft highest point

Gem Lake: 10 miles roundtrip, 2,200 ft elevation gain, 4,857 ft highest point

Region: Snoqualmie Pass, Cascade Mountains, Washington State

This hike starts at the Alpental Ski Area and climbs gradually through forest, rocky slopes, and meadows before reaching breathtaking views of Snow Lake. From there, we continue another 2 miles to Gem Lake for even more alpine scenery and crystal-clear water.
