I thought our life would be like heaven
It turned out to be a living hell.

I started counting the days ’til I left you
Started counting the steps I would take
I counted 39 steps to my freedom.
‘Cause loving you was a damned mistake.

I need 12 to get to the suitcase that I packed up 3 weeks before.
Gimme 6 to get through the kitchen
Another 8 to make it out the back door
Just 4 to get to that old Mason jar

9 more to get to my old Crown Vic
