Lia Holla spoke about youth engagement and why nuclear disarmament was a practical, hopeful solution to many connected issues, including climate change, racism, colonialism, and gender inequality. She shared how harmful “power and security” thinking showed up in real-world politics and culture, and why building relationships and solidarity mattered just as much as policy.
Drawing from her own journey in peace organizing, she offered simple, concrete ideas students could take back to their schools and communities. She closed by reminding everyone that hope was something you practiced through action, and that friendship helped make lasting change possible (!)
