We’re testing out a new-to-us weed suppression technique in our orchard — laying down cardboard first, then covering it with a thick layer of wood chips. 🌱🍎 Our goal is to smother weeds, keep moisture in, and give our young trees a better start without relying on chemicals.
In this video, we show you how we put the cardboard and wood chips down, explain why we chose this method over others, and share our hopes (and doubts) about how it will work. Will this keep the weeds at bay? Or will they find a way through?
