It was a great feeding. The little one is looking strong and healthy .
Plateau chick weighed 275g this morning, but BOK later fed the chick. Meanwhile, WYL is some 500km away foraging off the east coast of the South Island.

The chick has hatched, after spending 4 days in the incubator to protect the vulnerable hatchling from fly strike the Plateau chick has hatched weighing 288g. For reference this is a little less than a soda can and this chick is one of the smaller Royalcam chicks to hatch.
BOK arrived at the nest yesterday afternoon and WYL fed the chick before he left for his foraging trip. The chick weighed 280g this morning. Feeds have been small so far but are expected to increase as the chick gets older.
The chick will have a health check and be weighed twice a day, weather allowing, for the first 5 days then once a day for the following 5 days before moving to weekly weighing.
