This is some basic simple maintenance on a 2016 DD13 emissions system. My truck is currently at 747,000 miles and the one box was replaced with a reman ( under warranty ) 300,000 miles ago.
I see a lot of videos and comments online where people are changing NOx sensors and throwing parts at it left and right when some simple housecleaning may be all it needs.
Clean air filters. No exhaust leaks. Clean the doser nozzle behind the turbo - remove the carbon buildup off of it, and check for a good spray pattern. Check the small rubber hoses that measure the inlet and outlet pressures. This video is a simple R&R of the DEF injector nozzle to clean it.
Know the age and soot level of your particulate filters. They have a lifespan of around 350,000 miles depending on operating conditions.
