４８年の眠りからさめた零戦「零式艦上戦闘機五二型」。 平成4年、2機の零戦が錦江湾と吹上浜の海底から引き揚げられ、ともに補う形で1機の零戦となりました。修復には自衛隊隊員の熱意が注がれ、平成5年にリニューアルした新史料館に展示されることになりました。

This particular aircraft is a rare survivor, reconstructed from two planes that were recovered from the seabed (off the coasts of Nishinoomote and Kagoshima Bay). It stands as a powerful symbol of aviation history and a memorial to the past.
