In this video, I’m looking back at four of the cheapest used cars I bought — each one stepping up in price from £200, £300, £400, right up to £500.

Those cars were:
A £200 Audi A2
A £300 Rover 25
A £400 Kia Rio
A £500 Volvo C30

All of these were bought at different points over the last year, when I was buying on a tight budget and taking a bit of a gamble. Some were rough, some were surprisingly decent, and all of them are good examples of what that kind of money actually gets you at the bottom end of the used car market.

There’s no head-to-head comparison here — this is simply a look back at each car as it turned up, what condition it was in, and whether spending a bit more money actually made a difference.
