Ai Ogura’s Clever Strategy – Even Copying Bagnaia’s Riding Style

Ogura’s result left no room for disappointment. On his debut, he was the fastest non-Ducati rider and finished just 7.45 seconds behind race winner Márquez. His teammate Marco Bezzecchi finished 15 seconds behind Márquez in sixth place, highlighting Ogura’s strong pace against a more experienced Aprilia rider. In fact, Bezzecchi had to battle Johann Zarco in the closing laps, while Ogura remained consistently close to Morbidelli.
Ogura remained humble after his remarkable debut, expressing surprise at his own performance in Buriram. He admitted that he learned several tricks by following Francesco Bagnaia for 13 laps in the Sprint race and applied those lessons in Sunday’s Grand Prix.
He also noted that the intense heat in Thailand worked to his advantage.
