Pan Fried Baozi 🥟 How to Make Tasty Chinese Dumplings (Bao)

Today I will show you how to make Chinese dumplings (baozi, or bao) with chicken in a pan. This is a traditional Asian dish, very tasty and quite easy to make.
Ingredients:
For the dough:
• 1 egg
• Salt - 1 tsp
• Sugar - 1 tsp
• Water - 200 ml (6.8 fl oz)
• Flour - 450 grams (3 & 3/4 cups or ~16 oz)
• Vegetable oil - 2-3 tbsp
For stuffing:
• 2 carrots
• 2 bunch of scallion
• Minced chicken - 500-600 grams (17.6-21 oz)
• Salt - 1 tsp
• Black pepper - 1 tsp
• Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
• Sesame oil - 1 tbsp
For the sauce:
• Soy sauce - 60 ml (1/4 cup)
• Rice Vinegar - 1 tbsp
• Honey - 1 tbsp
• Sesame - 2 tsp
• Chili pepper - 2 tsp
• Chopped scallion - 1 tbsp
• Dried garlic - 1 tsp
Cooking method:
1. Make the dough. Mix 1 egg, salt, sugar and 200 ml of water. Then gradually add 450 grams of flour, stirring from time to time. When the dough sets, start kneading it with your hands, then divide it into 2 parts and put it to rest in a bag.
2. Make the stuffing. Finely chop carrots and green onions, mix with minced chicken. Add salt, black pepper and soy sauce.
3. Make the sauce. This is simple: mix soy sauce, dried garlic, chili peppers, vinegar and honey. Then add the sesame seeds.
4. Form the dumplings. Take the dough, roll it up and cut into small pieces. Then roll each piece of dough into a circle. Put some filling in the center of the circle and close the dough on top. In this form you can store dumplings in the freezer for a very long time.
5. Cook the dumplings in a frying pan. To do this, heat the oil, then put the dumplings and fry them until golden crust. Then reduce the heat to medium, add a little water to the pan, cover and cook for about 15 minutes more. After that the dumplings will be ready. Serve together with the sauce. Bon appetit!
