Description
This course has been developed to provide learners with an understanding of what psychosocial hazards are, the effect that these hazards can have on the people in your workplace and how to eliminate or minimise the risk of psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
Target Audience
A mental health problem caused by, or in, a workplace is called a psychological injury. Psychological injuries are typically caused by psychosocial hazards. Under the model WHS regulations, organisations must eliminate or minimise, so far as is reasonably practicable, the psychosocial risks that arise from psychosocial hazards.
Poor mental health of your employees costs Australian businesses nearly $13 billion and over 4 months of lost productivity every year , so we don't say it lightly when we say that psychosocial hazards in your workplace must be managed as effectively as physical hazards. It's likely that at least one worker in your workplace will experience a psychological injury due to a psychosocial hazard. Having a good understanding of what psychological hazards are enables you to be more effective at handling them
The course has been designed to provide training for managers and supervisors in Australian organisations.
