I have been wanting to collaborate with this amazing string group for a number of years and am thrilled we were finally able to make it happen! When choosing pieces for the program I was surprised how many organ and strings works have been written, but disappointed the majority of them are titled "Concerto", "Konzert" etc. To any composers listening, it's much easier to come up with a satisfying program if there are a variety of styles and genres represented; so we don't end up with a program of all concertos. To that end, until somebody writes a better strings/organ concerto - Poulenc will always be chosen... so if you must write a concerto, just make sure it's better than his;)
