The 2016 Python Challenge™ is a month-long public competition to remove nonnative Burmese pythons from public lands in Florida, which aims to increase public awareness about these large invasive snakes. Hosted by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida, this second Python Challenge will offer training, education and opportunities for the public to help actively manage invasive wildlife. While specific dates have yet to be set, the 2016 Python Challenge™ will occur early in the year with both kickoff and closing events. Details about upcoming trainings, competition rules and registration, prizes and events will be posted at www.PythonChallenge.org as they are finalized.
