The Han River in southern Shaanxi Province, China, has experienced its worst flooding in four years.
In Ankang, a city located along the river, the peak flow rate reached 10,600 cubic meters per second, marking an extremely high volume of water discharge.
Additionally, the water level rose by 11 meters (approximately 36 feet) within just 20 hours, indicating the severity and speed of the flooding event.
This rapid rise in water level and high discharge rate have made this flood one of the most significant in recent years. Emergency services were placed on high alert, and authorities issued warnings to residents in low-lying areas.
The flooding was triggered by intense and continuous rainfall over the region, which is part of broader seasonal weather patterns affecting parts of central and southern China.
