President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received military honors led by newly appointed Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM) Commander Major General Adonis Ariel Orio (Philippine Army) upon his arrival at Naval Station Felix Apolinario (NSFA) in Panacan, Davao City on December 4, 2025.

During his visit, the Commander-in-Chief led an Executive and Operational Briefing that highlighted the major accomplishments for Calendar Year 2025. He then addressed the troops, praising EASTMINCOM for its exemplary achievements in Internal Security Operations (ISO) and its sustained efforts to safeguard territorial integrity and support community development initiatives across Eastern Mindanao.

President Marcos Jr. also congratulated the Command on improvements in the country’s internal security response and noted the significant decline in the number of counterterrorism groups (CTGs).

He emphasized the Administration’s commitment to providing necessary training and military equipment as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) shifts its focus from internal security issues to emerging external security challenges.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed the government’s continued support for all military and uniformed personnel, including an increase in the daily subsistence allowance to Php350 and a rise in base pay for all military uniformed personnel. This pay increase is scheduled to begin early next year and will be implemented in three (3) tranches for both the AFP and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Concluding his visit to the EASTMINCOM, President Marcos Jr. joined the troops in a traditional boodle fight.
