Everyday Grammar TV: Recommendations with BE

John: We’ve been talking about asking for and making recommendations in recent lessons. One pattern uses the verb BE, as in “Is there a good restaurant near here?”
Dr. J: By the way, John, I’m going to Baltimore next weekend with some relatives.
John: Do you want my recommendation for a good restaurant?
Dr. J: Not exactly. They have kids, so I’m looking for a children’s museum to take them to. I think we’ll be near the Inner Harbor. Is there a children’s museum near the Inner Harbor?
John: In fact, there’s a great one. It’s called Port Discovery and it’s right there, in the Inner Harbor area.
Dr. J: Great, I'll look it up.
John: Dr. Jill’s question is a good example because she asked me an exact question. She said what kind of museum she was looking for – a children’s museum - and the location it should be in – near the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
Dr. J: Now I just need to find a good family restaurant near the museum.
John: Let’s see if our friends can make a question about that.
Dr. J: Remember to use this pattern:
Is there a (kind) (noun) near (location)?
Is there a _________ near _______?
John: Pause the video and think of your answer.
Dr. J: Ready? Here’s the question:
Is there a good family restaurant near the children’s museum?
John: There is – Phillips - and kids eat free if they show they’ve been to the museum.
