This talk invites you to reflect on the individualistic heroic ideal that western society promotes when it comes to making a change in the world. Ginie Servant explains how she came to realise that following her own dream instead of society’s expectations was the only way to really make a change. Rather than work alone, she built a foundation that teaches martial arts to underprivileged girls with a whole community of martial artists and today shares her experience with working together for change.
Ginie Servant is an education expert and a martial artist with a background in NGO work and human rights, currently working at Erasmus University College.
