The Cross was erected in memory of CD King, the first American Baptist Missionary “to our land” (the Angamis), arrived in Chümoukedima (then Samaguting) on June 27, 1876. It was constructed by Chümoukedima Village Baptist Church on May 18, 2010 on 13,300 square feet donated by Thepama Clan, Chümoukedima. With the panoramic view as well as historical significance, the site offers visitors both trekking and pilgrimage experiences.
