Woo Hoo!!! This is soooo exciting!! We are going to the Kingdom of Cambodia!!!

We are travelling to Cambodia to see what the Khmer people grow, how they cook and what the locals eat!

We grow so many of the same fruits, herbs and vegetables on our tropical self-sufficient property in Far North Queensland and we want to get some Cambodian ideas on how to eat our produce in new and interesting ways!
We visit, restaurants, markets, local homes, street food, temples and the countryside to eat and learn as much as we can.

Cambodia, officially known as the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a beautiful country located in South East Asia. It is bordered by Thailand to the west, Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. With a population of over 15 million people, Cambodia has a rich history and culture that attracts millions of visitors every year.

The country has a long and fascinating history that dates back to the ancient Khmer empire, which ruled the region from the 9th to the 15th century. The empire was known for its majestic architecture, elaborate religious temples, and impressive cities, such as the famous Angkor complex.

The city of Angkor was the largest metropolis in the world at it's time covering around 400 square kilometers. It was as big as Paris or London today with a population estimated to be up to a million people.

Today, Cambodia is a developing country that is still recovering from the ravages of the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s. However, despite the country's troubled recent past, Cambodia has made significant progress in recent years, with a growing economy and increasing numbers of tourists.

One of the main attractions of Cambodia is its stunning natural beauty, including picturesque rice paddies, lush tropical rainforests, and white sandy beaches that line the coastline.
Cambodia is known for its warm and friendly people, who are always willing to share their culture and traditions with visitors.
