We have about 15 stray cats which come and eat the cat food of our own cats. Placing an ordinary weight-triggered trap does not work, as usually our own cats are less scared and tend to enter en release the trap door.
This door is released by an electrical 12V signal. By connecting a long wire to the release mechanism a human can hide and watch from a large distance until the animal which we want to catch has entered the cage. Out own cats are not scared away by the cage. Now we wait for the stray cats.
