Harvest & Cure Onions Like This & They'll Keep For Months!

When should onions be harvested? In this video, I'll show you when onions are ready to harvest and how to harvest onions, how to cure onions so they don't rot, and how to store onions so they last for months on end.

Onions can be started from both seeds and sets and planted in either the spring or the autumn. I'll let you know roughly when you should harvest onions, based on the planting date, but I'll show you the signs I look out for to work out when it's the right time to harvest onions. And whichever path you choose, you'll be able to follow the method described here for harvesting, curing and storing your onions.

One item I find that helps the curing process is a plastic greenhouse which, this time of year, is starting to look a little empty and therefore is the perfect place to stop my onions getting wet and letting them dry out.
