Join me as I embark on my longest and most in-depth exploration yet—deep inside the abandoned Oro Denoro Mine near Greenwood, British Columbia. With my Blue Heeler Navaare by my side (and Kobalt joining later), we navigate through decaying tunnels, hidden shafts, and eerie cave-like formations that have stood the test of time.
This mine, once a booming copper and gold operation in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is now a crumbling relic of BC’s rich mining history. The site was originally part of the Phoenix Mining District, producing high-grade ore that helped fuel the region’s economy. But like many historic mines, it was eventually abandoned, leaving behind a maze of tunnels and shafts that remain both fascinating and extremely dangerous to this day.
⚠ DISCLAIMER: Exploring abandoned mines is extremely hazardous and should never be attempted without proper knowledge, experience, and safety precautions. Unstable ground, collapsing tunnels, deadly gases, and unseen shafts make these places highly unpredictable. STAY OUT, STAY ALIVE.
⚠ PET SAFETY DISCLAIMER: Bringing dogs or other pets into abandoned mines is incredibly risky. Unstable ground, toxic substances, and sudden drops pose serious dangers to animals. Navaare and Kobalt are trained and supervised at all times, but even then, the risks are significant. Please do not attempt this with your own pets.
