Donald Trump continues to inspire and incite his supporters to violence. Most recently, a self-described Trump supporter, Abigail Jo Shay, was arrested for making vile, vulgar, racist death threats to the judge presiding over Trump's federal trial in DC, Judge Tanya Chutkan. She said that "if Donald Trump is not elected in 2024," they will come after the judge and her family.
It's time for the institutions of government to apply the rule of law as it was intended to be applied: Donald Trump is a danger to the community and he should be detained pending trial. Additionally, Donald Trump has violated his conditions of release, which forms a second, independent basis to detain him pending trial. The time for catering to Donald Trump is long past. It's time for the rule of law to protect Trump's victims.
