Part of the Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival and the largest medieval battle reenactment I've ever seen!
The Battle of Evesham on 4th August 1265 was the second, and final, battle of the Second Baron's War. Simon de Montford, who had won the first battle, the Battle of Lewes, had held Prince Edward and his Father, King Henry III, as captives. However Prince Edward had escaped and gathered loyal forces to defeat De Montford, whose forces were trapped in front of a river at Evesham, and free his Father.
The number of reenactors in the first few minutes of my video is very small compared to the number who later enter, so do watch the whole battle. Whilst with the large number of reenactors it may be difficult to follow what is happening at times, I hope my video at least gives a true picture of the scale of the reenactment that was put on; a fantastic effort by all involved!
