Celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty
in Moscow and Kostroma 20-26 May 1913.
Here I present a series of original photographs taken in 1913 during the Tricentenary of the House of Romanov.
The dynasty began when Mikhail Feodorovich became the first Romanov tsar in 1613 , within the walls of the Ipatyev Monastery in Kostroma. This act put an end to the Time of Troubles, one of the most distressful periods in Russian history.
The Romanov dynasty thus began and was to last for a little over three centuries, ending in 1917.........
